Austen is somewhat of a newcomer to both the accounting field and the nonprofit sector. He graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University-Commerce at the end of 2020 and now has four years of accounting work experience. Austen joined the team at Café Momentum-Dallas in November 2022, where he learned the basics of both nonprofit and restaurant accounting. He joined Momentum Advisory Collective in January 2024 and is excited for the opportunity to use his nerdy numbers knowledge to help take Café Momentum to the national level.

Austen is detail-oriented and loves learning about how and why things work. He has gained a passion for advancing the cause of youth justice reform and believes that every young person should have the opportunity to develop their skills and reach their full potential. Additionally, Austen believes that most conflicts can be solved with a humble heart, a thoughtful mind, and a sense of humor.

When he isn’t sorting through receipts or trying to figure out why his Excel formulas aren’t working, Austen can be found at his home in the Dallas suburbs cooking, reading, or playing music on guitar and banjo. He also plans to resume his studies in Fall 2024 with the goal of taking the CPA exam.
