CAFÉ MOMENTUM LAUNCH DIRECTOR, ATLANTA

Momentum Advisory Collective seeks an experienced Launch Director to drive strategic and fundraising initiatives and establish viable financial sustainability for Café Momentum, Atlanta, Georgia.

The ideal candidate has deep connections throughout the city of Atlanta, a passion for juvenile justice, and an entrepreneurial spirit, along with excellent writing, interpersonal and relationship-building skills. A natural dealmaker and business builder, the Launch Director will bring the ability to interact and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders; be inspired by work in a complex and continuously evolving environment, and have the ability to connect disparate information and trends to identify new areas for opportunity. A substantial record of building successful ventures, particularly in the philanthropic, real estate or finance industries is strongly preferred.

The Launch Director reports to the National VP of Development and works closely alongside the marketing department and Chief Strategy Officer. This individual will be responsible for raising (or identifying a viable path to raise) $4,000,000 for the capital buildout of Café Momentum Atlanta.

Associated responsibilities may include //

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of all Momentum Advisory Collective programs and activities to communicate the organization’s mission, vision and funding needs

  • Creating positive and meaningful connections in the Atlanta community on behalf of our organization

  • Identifying and securing new sources of revenue (individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other sources of program revenue)

  • Cultivating and recommending sponsors for special events

  • Preparing materials to support fundraising, including informational materials, gift proposals and agreements, and other documentation and working in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications department, as appropriate

  • Analyzing donor data, identifying key patterns and applying such insights to maximize donor investments

  • Maintaining the organization’s positive brand image and reputation

  • Representing the organization with external stakeholders such as government and elected officials, media, local business owners and executives, education leaders, community-based organizations and others

  • Applying a fundraising lens to all events and operations

Key Attributes, Experience, Knowledge & Skills //

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in a similar role

  • Strong connections in the Atlanta community, and government relationships are a plus

  • Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking with an aptitude for business development and excellent financial, fundraising and operational experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, written, oral and public speaking skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to see projects through to completion

  • Real estate knowledge a plus

  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications and Google

  • A self-starter who has the ability to work both as a part of a remote team and independently

  • An ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in written and oral forms– leveraging data, narrative and intrinsic passion to motivate, persuade and mobilize a diverse range of stakeholders

  • Sense of humor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Working Environment //

This is a contracted, full-time position based in Atlanta, Georgia. Contract could extend until the funding milestone of $4mm is achieved, or prior as determined by the employer. Contractor may be required to work nights, holidays or weekends, and could be required to travel up to 10% - 15% of the time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, document projectors, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a contractor to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the contractor is regularly required to talk and hear. The contractor is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
